Distribution	Mozambique (coastal strip), Republic of South Africa (coastal NE KwaZulu-Natal) Type locality: Kosi Bay, Zululand.

Comment	Limb morphology: This species lost its forelimb entirely and retains only two digits on the hind limb.
Etymology	Named after Vivian F. M. Fitzsimons (1901-1975), who originally described this taxon while under the impression that it was the form described by PETERS in 1882. See also Haacke 1975.
