Distribution	Republic of South Africa (E Transvaal, Drakensberg, Wolkberg, Steenkampsberg, south to N Natal), Swaziland. Type locality: Transvaal

Etymology	The species epithet mirus is a Latin adjective, meaning unexpected finding or surprise, apparently referring to the unexpected discovery of this species.
