| Comment | Limb morphology: This species lost its forelimb entirely and retains only two digits on the hind limb. Synonymy: Tornier 1902 synonymized Herpetoseps with Herpetosaura PETERS. However, Tornier misspelled anguina (as anguineus) and did not emend that name intentionally. |
