Diagnosis
Comment	Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). Reference images: see Uetz et al. 2024 for high-resolution reference images for this species.
Etymology	Presumably from the Greek makros (long, but often used to mean large) plus otos (ear) in reference to the large ear of this species.
