CommentSee discussion about synonyms in Ouboter (1986) who doesn’t distinguish between subspecies. Scincella vandenburghi (SCHMIDT 1927) and S. boettgeri have been removed from synonymy of S. modesta. S. potanini and S. schmidti have been considered as synonyms of S. modesta but are listed as valid species here.
