Etymology | Named after Henry Tryon (1856-1943), an English scientist. He abandoned medicine in favor of natural science, particularly botany and entomology. He later became an Honorary Assistant at the Queensland Museum and then was officially employed there (1883-1893), becoming Assistant Curator (1885). |
