CommentDistribution: Werner (1923) originally and erroneously thought that his specimen was from India, but he corrected that in Werner 1929. For a map see Sindaco et al. 2013, Yadollahvandmiandoab at al. 2022: Fig. 3. 
EtymologyNamed after Greek dolikhós = long, far, and Greek spilos = dirt, dirty spot, apparently after the brown spots of this species, speficially the long stripe on its neck.
