Diagnosis | DESCRIPTION: Size moderate (SVL in males to 30 mm, in females to 29 mm); dorsals small, acute to cycloid, weakly keeled, slightly swollen, slightly imbricate, axilla to groin 34-44; no middorsal area of granules or granular scales; ventrals smooth to completely keeled. cycloid. imbricate. axilla to groin 26-36; dorsal caudal scales small, acute to cycloid, keeled, slightly swollen and slightly erected, ventral caudal scales smooth, cycloid, enlarged midventrally; snout moderate, not depressed or decurved; snout scales small, narrow, flat, slightly imbricate; 1 postnasal; 0-3 (mode 1) internasals; upper labials to mideye 3; gular scales keeled; chest scales smooth to keeled; midbody scales 57-64; escutcheon compact with no extensions onto thighs, 4-6 x 8-12. Pattern not sexually dichromatic; dorsum uniform brown or yellowish brown Uuveniles) or more or less uniform reticulate darker brown; head buff to cream with faint middorsal and supraocular stripes, or with bold, dark, trilineate pattern; sacral pattern a pale Y with elongate extension onto tail; venter grayish, yellowish gray, white; throat yellow, orange, whitish, unpatterned or with light to moderate mottling and striations; iris golden (from Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 471). |
