Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Dark olive-brown above with irregular rows of black dots on back; a broad black lateral stripe punctated at intervals with cream dots beginning on shoulder but preceded by one or two separate spots, bordered above by a line of ground-color and this in turn by a very narrow (often broken) dotted brownish-white line; this stripe bordered below by a broad light line which in turn is bordered below by a dark line from axilla to groin, its lower edge indefinite; no supranasals; frontonasal single; prefrontal separated; no nuchals; eyelid scaly; no postnasal; three pairs of chinshields all touching labials; 38 scalerows around body; ear-opening nearly as large as eye-opening.” (Taylor 1962: 232) Additional details (2841 characters) are available for collaborators and contributors.
