DistributionPhilippines (Samar, Bohol, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Island)

Type locality: “Loquilocum, auf der Insel Samar”.  
Reproductionoviparous (phylogenetic imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesHolotype: ZMB 4978; Described from a single specimen (Bauer et al., 2003), and hence the identification of NMW 16622:1-2 as syntypes by Tiedemann et al. (1994) is incorrect.

EtymologyNamed after Latin “acuere” = sharp, or “acutus” = sharpened, pointed, or “acumen” = tip, or “acus” = needle.
