Diagnosis | Diagnosis: This is the only member of the fasciatus subgroup with the following combination of characters: 26-30 longitudinal scale rows at midbody; prefrontals separated, and a distinct dark dorsolateral stripe [GREER & PARKER 1974]. Comment | (communicated by J. Hallermann). Abundance: rare. GREER & PARKER 1974 state that “since its description, no other specimens have been discussed in the literature”. However, R. Mackay and Parker collected 47 additional specimens in the foothills of the Owen Stanley Range behind Port Moresby (all in MCZ now). Type: not in BMNH (P. Campbell, pers. comm., 7 July 2014). |
