CommentBelongs to the clade Boreomegalepis (fide TORRES-CARVAJAL 2006). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin iridiscens, that shows or reflects the colors of the rainbow. [“...the throat before the collar is beautifully iridescent...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
