Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Data from species in comparison are given in paren- theses. The new species differs from all other species of Stenocercus except S. caducus, S. dumerilii, S. prionotus, S. quinarius, S. sinesaccus, S. squarrosus and S. tricristatus by having strongly keeled and mucronate body scales, laterally oriented nostrils, and lacking a postfemoral mite pocket. Comment | The description was apparently published in lates 2015, although the final pdf says “2016”. Similar species: S. sinesaccus, with which it may have been confused before. Distribution: Map: see TEIXEIRA et al. 2016: 417. |
Etymology | The specific epithet albolineatus is derived from the Latin words albus (=white) and linea (=line) and atus (=that bears), as all members of the new species present a whitish line on the anterior surface of the forelimbs, characteristic of this species. |
