DiagnosisDiagnosis: TORRES-CARVAJAL 2007. 
CommentDoes not occur in Ecuador (TORRES-CARVAJAL 2000).

Belongs to the clade Scelotrema (fide TORRES-CARVAJAL 2006). 
EtymologyNamed after Mr. Enrique Böttger (1856-1944), the collector of the specimens in Huancabamba, Peru. Not to be confused with Oskar Böttger (1844-1910), a German herpetologist.
