DiagnosisDiagnosis (genus): (1) body slender with an extra-long tail, tail length usually more than two times larger than snout-vent length, (2) dorsal scales enlarged and keeled, ventral scales enlarged, keeled or smooth, (3) scales on flanks small and granular, (4) lateral teeth tricuspid, (5) temporal scales usually keeled, (6) 0–5 femoral pores on each side (Arnold et al. 2007, Zhao et al. 1999, cited in Wang et al. 2019).

CommentThe tail length is usually over 300% of snout–vent length in this species, the longest tail (relative to snout-vent length) of any lizard!

Type Species: Takydromus quadrilineatus Daudin, 1802 [= T. sexlineatus Daudin, 1802] is the type species of the genus Takydromus DAUDIN 1802.

Synonymy: Tachydromus sikkimensis GÜNTHER 1888 has been removed from the synonymy of T. sexlineatus.

Distribution: possibly in Bhutan (Lenz 2012).
