DistributionMexico (Michoacán, Jalisco)

Elevation: 1,430–1,858 m (WILSON & MATA-SILVA 2014)

Type locality: Tzaráracua Falls (= Cascada la Tzaráracua), S of Uruapán (10.5 km south, according to Duellman, 1961), Michoacán, Mexico, collected by D. F. Brand in June, 1939.

TypesHolotype: AMNH 107389, female, collected in June, 1939 by D. F. Brand. 
Diagnosis 
CommentThis species remains known from only 3 specimens (WILSON 1999, WILSON & MATA-SILVA 2014, 2015).

Distribution: for a map with localities of the calamarina group see Palacios-Aguilar et al. 2022: 125 (Fig. 3). 
EtymologyThe name cascadae is derived from the Spanish word cascada, meaning “waterfall,” in reference to Cascada Tzaráracua, the type locality of the species.
