TypesHolotype: FML 02537; paratypes: UNRC-DCN-ZV, FML
DiagnosisDiagnosis. Teius suquiensis is unisexual. The rostral scale is separated from the frontonasal scale by the nasal scales. The colour pattern and number of dorsolateral spots are quite constant. The spots are distinctly black and range from 16-22 on each side. They are usually symmetrical, quadrangular, longer than wide and in the midbody separated by the width of two spots. This pattern is conspicuously different from that of the other two species. In T. oculatus the quantity and definition of the spots is reduced and in T. teyou they are numerous but irregular and united by a longitudinal black bar (see Fig. 2). (Avila & Martori 1991)
