CommentHabitat: Mabuya boettgeri is a high elevation (1000- 2400 m) species found in grassland and degraded montane heathland of the High Plateau. It is strictly diurnal (like all Madagascan ma- buyas) and a surface-active ground-dweller. 
EtymologyNamed after Oskar Boettger (1844-1910), herpetologist at the Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt am Main.
