Reproduction	oviparous
Types	Holotype: unlocated; not in MNHN fide I. Ineich (pers. comm., 21 May 2019), not in BMNH fide Brygoo 1988.
Diagnosis	Diagnosis: A medium-sized, slender Trapelus with large gular pouch. Head longer than in other African Trapelus species. Dorsal scales equal in size, strongly keeled but not mucronate, no intermixed larger scales.
Comment	Listed with a question mark by WERMUTH 1967 who also cited Lataste’s work as being published in vol. 2 of “Le Naturaliste”, but valid after P. Wagner et al. 2011.
Etymology	Named after the French herpetologist A. Tourneville.
