CommentDUNN 1937 listed this species as a synonym of T. gracile.

Distribution: rare in Panama, known from only a few specimens (S. Lotzkat, pers. comm., 23 Dec 2015). 
EtymologyNamed after Greek pleion (πλείων), more, of number, size, extent, etc. + Greek lepis (λεπίς), a scale. [“...Scales in seventeen row...”].
