Type locality: 2 km north of Gatab in the montane forest of Mount Kulal, Northern Frontier Division of Kenya, 02° 39’E 52.6’’N; 36° 56’ 11.4’’ E, elevation 1800 m elevation

Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after its local name in the Samburu language.
