Type locality: Chilpancingo, Guerrero, Mexico.  
TypesHolotype: MVZ 45030, male (W.W. Brown, between Aug. 1942 and Aug. 1943). 
CommentSynonymy: Scott 1967 synonymized Chersodromus annulatus with Tropidodipsas annulifera.

Distribution: the specimen reported by Grünwald et al. (2016) from Puebla differed slightly in initial scale counts from the numerical ranges presented by Kofron (1988).
