Head distinct from neck, covered with scales no rostral shield ; nostril in a single nasal. Eye moderate, with vertical pupil. Body compressed. Scales keeled. Trachyboa nests within Tropidophis and was thus synonymized with it (Zaher et al. 2024) Type species: Trachyboa gularis PETERS 1860 is the type species of the genus Trachyboa PETERS 1860, now a synonym of Tropidophis fide Zaher et al. 2024. Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). Distribution: Ihering 1911 reports the species from Venezuela. Abundance: Rare. |
