CommentSubspecies: Tropidophis pilsbryi galacelidus SCHWARTZ and GARRIDO, 197 is now mostly considered as a valid species.

EtymologyNamed after Dr. Henry Augustus Pilsbry (1862-1957), a conchologist and malacologist, an expert on barnacles, and a leading light in the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences. He graduaded from the University of Iowa.
