Diagnosis	Diagnosis:- Head scales smooth: dorsal weakly keeled. lateral body keeled, and upper, anterior and posterior parts of limbs keeled, and tail strongly keeled; lateral scale-rows directed obliquely; two large preanal scales; subcaudals paired; tail shorter than SVL [from CHUAYNKERN et al. 2005].
Comment	Illustration: in DAS 2010, although on plate 36, the name Tropidophorus laotus Smith, 1923 is wrongly associated to a drawing of T. hangnam, and vice versa. Abundance: Rare. This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024.
Etymology	The specific epithet is derived from a transliteration of the Thai words, "hang" meaning tail, and "nam" meaning spine. It refers to the one of distinguish character of the new species, having strongly keeled or spines on the tail.
