Synonymy: Listed as synonym of T. beccarii by MALKMUS et al. (2002), citing SMITH 1923 as source. However, the most recent checklist of the IUCN skink specialist group lists it as valid (Chapple et al., unpublished). 
EtymologyNamed after Francois Mocquard (1834-1917), French herpetologist.
