Diagnosis | Description: Head large, swollen at the temples; head-shields smooth; frontonasal single; praefrontals in contact; frontal a little longer than frontoparietals and interparietal together; five supraoculars; frontoparietals shorter than the interparietal; parietals in contact; seven upper labials, fifth and sixth largest and below the eye, five lower labials; postmental smaller than in the preceding species, followed by two pair of shields. Tympanum smaller than the eye-opening. Body slender, with 34 smooth scales, ventrals largest. Praeanal region covered with one plate. Tail compressed, not quite one time and a half the length of head and body. Limbs strong ; digits rather short, with smooth lamellae below (de Rooij 1915: 276). Coloration: Brown above, with dark transverse bands; flanks white-spotted. Lower parts whitish (de Rooij 1915: 276). Size: Length of head and body 95 mm.; tail 107 mm (de Rooij 1915: 276). |
