Reproductionovovivparous 
TypesLectotype: GNM Re. ex. 1388a, Lectoparatypes Re. ex. 1388b-f in Gothenburg Museum of Natural History, designated by HAACKE 1997. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Tail shorter than in all other species, i.e. about 25 070 of SV length. Eye smaller than in other species and partly overlain by edges of loreal and supraocular. Second upper labial about twice as long as tall and in contact with eye.

EtymologyNamed in honour of Mr. Carl Ossian Johnson (1867-1949), who financed Mr. Skoog's expedition to Angola, and the owner of whaling stations in South Georgia and South Africa
