DistributionNW Namibia (Namib desert from Lüderitz Bay)

Type locality: Cape Division. Restricted to Walvisch (= Walvis) Bay, Namibia by McLachlan 1984: 17. Original origin unknown.

TypesType SAM 508 in South African Museum, Cape Town. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Rostral large and laterally strongly notched with the small enclosed postnasal scale making contact with the first upper labial, third upper labial in contact with eye, second lower labial very large. Minute hindlimb rudiments visible on either side of cloaca [HAACKE 1997: 144] 
CommentDistribution: Not in Angola fide Marques et al. 2018. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “brevis, -e” = short and “pes, pedis” = foot.
