DistributionWest Malaysia (Pulau Sibu, Johor)

Type locality: at sea level on Pulau Sibu, Johor, West Malaysia in coastal lowland forest. Sex undeterminable.  
Reproduction 
TypesHolotype: ZRC 2.6160, juvenile, collected 10 July 2004 by P.L. Wood, Jr. beneath a rotten log. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Sphenomorphus sibuensis can be distinguished from all other Sundaland species of Sphenomorphus by the unique combination of having 29 smooth, midbody scales; 58 paravertebral scales; 52 ventral scales; four supraoculars; parietals contacting supraoculars; two enlarged, two posteriormost superciliary scales projecting dorsomedially; prefrontals in contact; one loreal scale; six supralabial scales; five infralabial scales; nine keeled, subdigital lamellae beneath the fourth toe; two enlarged, preanal scales; adpressed limbs not overlapping; body bands absent; no dark dorsolateral stripe; distinct, white, dorsolateral stripe extending to midway down tail.
