DiagnosisUroplatus malama is a small, short-headed, and short-snouted species with a laterally compressed body. It lacks membranous fringes on the lower jaw, neck, body, and limbs. It is most similar to Uroplatus ebenaui, fro m which it differs in scalation, coloration, and structure of the hemipenis. This taxon differs from all the other species by lacking dermal spines on the head, body, limbs and tail base.
