Type locality: Altiplanicie Sur Terekyurén, Base de Los Testigos, Estado Bolívar, Venezuela (05° 52’ N, 62°03’ W), 1800 m elevation.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Arthrosaura testigensis differs from A. synaptolepis in having prefrontals; from A. reticulata , A. tyleri and A. versteegi in having four supraoculars, and from A. kockii in having the loreal separated from the supralabials, the loreal region with smooth scales, 3 pairs of genials and 8 preanal plates. 
CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017).

Synonymy: Kok et al. 2025 placed Arthrosaura testigensis in the genus Yanomamia. However, they have not released any sequence data as of this writing (23 Aug 2025) after their article was published on 14 June 2025. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality, Los Testigos (a.k.a. Aparamán), a mountain chain in Estado Bolívar, Venezuela. [“...For the locality, Serrania de Los Testigos, where the holotype and paratype were collected...”].
